>> iMOVE-Trade Mission to Moscow and Vladimir - June 2006
Since 2005, the Federation of Russia has been a target country for international iMOVE-activities. From June 25th to 29th, representatives of 13 German organisations involved in vocational education and training, were in Moscow and Vladimir as part of an iMOVE-Trade Mission.
An itinerary comprising extensive visitations and meetings, allowed participants to gain fundamental insights into the current structure of vocational education and training programs in Russia.
>> Objective
The primary objective of the iMOVE-Mission was to enable participants to make an initial assessment of the vocational education and training market in Russia and secondly, to define their export opportunities.Numerous appointments with Russian institutions from industry and commerce, as well as with political institutions, such as the Department of Education, City of Moscow, SALUT, a manufacturing company, the New University of Russia, the Delovaja Rossia Society or the Russian Association of Industrialists and Enterpreneurs [RSPP], as well as subsequent one-on-one discussions served to establish initial contacts and allowed the German participants to present their services and capabilities.
The local iMOVE-Partner was the German Management Academy of Lower Saxony [Deutsche Management Akademie Niedersachsen (DMAN)] in cooperation with Delovaja Rossia and the Russian Association of Industrialists and Enterpreneurs [RSPP].
>> Outcome
As a result of the continuing transformation to a liberal market economy, the vast Russian market offers enormous potential, which must and will be furthered and nurtured on an ongoing basis through the joint efforts of politics and industry and commerce. The Russian participants in our discussions are convinced of the quality of German vocational training and education and are aware of the pressure to modernize their own country. Reform will take place, if common goals are defined and implemented through politics and industry and commerce.
The Russian market is a long-term project and requires a lot of patience – “everything is in a state of flux“. All of the participants agreed that success can only be attained through continuous work and effort.
The trip to Vladimir and the program there revealed just how different conditions are between Moscow and the rest of the country. There’s no easy way into the Russian market.
Offers of cooperation from the German side must be adapted in modules to the realities of Russia today – these must be developed jointly – step by step.
