The 2nd German-Arab Education and Vocational Training Forum will take place October 12-13. With the 2nd Forum, iMOVE and Ghorfa are continuing their strategic partnership of creating and maintaining networks for German and Arab vocational training providers, as well as for industries and service providers involved in developing the vocational training sector in the Arab world. Once again, in 2010, the German-Arab Education and Vocational Training Forum will be under the auspices of the German Ministry of Education and Research.

>> Special Focus: A new study records the economic impact of German education exports for the first time
The study entitled "Die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung deutscher Bildungsexporte" (The Economic Impact of German Education Export) commissioned by iMOVE presents the first attempt at a systematic overview of the German education sector with its different segments as well as in estimating the economic impact of education exports.
According to the study, the German education export in 2009 amounted to 9.4 billion euros. This export volume shows that education plays a significant role in the German services sector and that its economic impact has so far been underestimated. The education export outmatches the export of insurance services (2.9 billion euros), advertising and exhibition services (3.8 billion euros) and financial services (9 billion euros). . ...more

From May 16-20, 2010, the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and the Emirate of Qatar were the designated stops of the German delegation of education and training providers. For the first time, this trade mission was organised jointly by iMOVE, Ghorfa and Didacta. 18 providers from these three networks, representative of the German export economy in the education sector, accepted the invitation to go on this market research mission.
